Reporting Rights Overview

Reporting rights can be assigned to any user for any structure.  By assigning reporting rights to a user to a given position within a structure gives that user the ability to report on any project or resource that has been added to that position in the structure and below.

Select a Structure

Reporting rights can be assigned to any structure. For example, you may have a structure in your organisation that is used for Timesheet Management.  Someone within your organisation needs to report on the resource hours booked through the timesheet  within a certain department. Assign reporting rights to that user over that department gives the user the rights to run reports on the users in that department.

If your organisation has specific reporting requirements, you may want to set up a structure specifically for that requirement (See the example below).

Assign Reporting Rights to the Structure.

The Administrator must assign users reporting rights to one or more positions within a selected structure.

Below is a structure of an organisation that has specifically set up to do some geographic grouping of projects for its clients. Mary, the client manager wants to set up reporting rights for 4 of her resources in her team.  Jim is in charge of Melbourne Office, Jane is in charge of Sydney office, Millie is responsible for Inner City projects and Mike is responsible for Outer City Projects.

We would assign the following reporting rights to give everyone the access to report on the projects they need.

  1. Assign Mary, the Manager, reporting rights at the Client Projects position.  She would then have access to all projects added to the structure.

  2. Assign Jim, manager of Melbourne, reporting rights at the Melbourne position.  He then would have access to all Melbourne Inner and Outer City projects.

  3. Assign Jane, manager of Sydney, reporting rights at the Sydney position.  He then would have access to all Sydney Inner and Outer City projects.

  4. Assign Millie, Inner City Manager, reporting rights to both the Melbourne Inner City and Sydney Inner positions.

  5. Assign Mike, Outer City Manager, reporting rights to both the Melbourne Outer City and Sydney Outer positions.
