The Status of an IRC item is an important indicator for users in determining what actions are appropriate. The following table and diagram display the Status changes an IRC item undergoes between the time it is first registered through to the time it is resolved.

Meaning |

Registered |
The IRC item has been raised by a Team Member, the Project Manager or the system. The ”Registered” status indicates that the item has just been raised and has not yet been acted upon. |

Acknowledged |
The System automatically resets the Status when the IRC item is opened (acknowledged) by the Project Manager. This status is maintained while the Project Manager creates an Action Plan. |

Deferred |
The IRC item has been deferred by the Project Manager. The item will remain open on the Project Manager’s list until it is re-assessed. |

In Progress |
The Action Plan has been authorised and the tasks and assignments made Pending. |
|
Resolved |
The Project Manager sets the IRC item status to Resolved when they are satisfied that the IRC item requires no further action. |
|
No Action |
The Project Manager sets the IRC item status to No Action when they are satisfied that no action is required and the I.R.C item can be closed. |
