Appending Templates to a Project schedule

The Append Process allows the project manager to append an imported project or template to an existing project.  During the procedure, the project manager has the ability to add the additional tasks to the end of the current project plan or to the end of a phase in the current project plan.  Another option available is to insert the additional plan into a selected section of the plan.  In all cases, the outline of the updated project plan will recalculate.  It is advisable to check the updated plan during the append process before committing the changes.

  1. From within a project navigate to the Project Summary page 

  2. Click the Append icon 

  3. Selecting the Project Template option will display a list of existing Project Template.

  4. Select the Template you wish to use.

  5. Click the Next button.

  6. Verify the Task outline structure and click the Next button.

  7. In the Append Project options dialogue box, select where in the outline structure the new tasks are to be added and click the Next button.

  8. Verify resource matching and click the Next button.

  9. Confirm the project is ready for Synchronisation by clicking the Finish button.  Once confirmed, the Project Summary page will open.
